Socialbakers, a social media analytics company, recently analyzed the engagement of videos uploaded directly to Facebook compared to the performance of YouTube video links posted to the Facebook site. Videos uploaded directly to Facebook had a much higher engagement than YouTube video links. Facebook users tended to share video at the same rate, regardless of how it was posted to Facebook. However, videos posted directly to Facebook generated more user comments.
