As an alternative to Vine and Instagram, Google has quietly released YouTube Capture. This iOS-only app incorporates features of both popular social video marketing tools. Like Vine, YouTube Capture is easy to use. However, YouTube Capture does not impose any time-limits for video length, so video content can exceed six-seconds. Similar to Instagram, YouTube Capture features fast-editing tools.

Instagram to debut ads next week

Agencies Intrigued, and Confused, by Video Ads on Social Networks

According to a new report published by Mixpo, advertising agency professionals are confused about what constitutes a video ad placed within a social media site. Only 26 percent of agency execs said they were "reasonably competent" on social video marketing. For social video ad campaigns, most agencies had experience with purchasing ads within the YouTube video sharing site. Sixty-three percent of respondents have managed YouTube ad campaigns.

Check Out the Top 10 Most-Shared Brands on Instagram Video

Major brands and organizations created 42 percent of the most shared Instagram videos. Unrurly media found that organizations including MTV, the NBA and Starbucks are among the brands creating :15-second Instagram videos for social video marketing. These videos are being shared by viewers across a range of social media sites, including Facebook and Twitter. Nine out of ten Instagram video shares are posted directly to Facebook, which owns the Instagram app.
